The Magpies target a first Premier League away win against Man City since September 2000 and Howe has opted for one solitary change after Wednesday's 6-1 away win against Qarabağ FK in the UEFA Champions League as Ramsey replaces Harvey Barnes.

Nick Pope, who has recorded 11 competitive clean sheets so far this season, starts in-between the sticks. Kieran Trippier, who captains the visitors this evening, is set for his 150th Magpies outing.

Malick Thiaw and Dan Burn retain their spots in central defence while Lewis Hall continues at left-back.

Ramsey is likely to line up alongside Sandro Tonali, who makes his 98th appearance for the Magpies, and Joe Willock in the middle of the park.

Anthony Elanga, who netted his first Magpies goal in this month's Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Man City, and Nick Woltemade will aim to provide attacking support for Anthony Gordon, who scored four first half goals in the club's biggest ever Champions League win on Wednesday night.

Barnes, who netted a second half brace in November's 2-1 win against Man City in the reverse league fixture, is named on the bench along with Joelinton, Will Osula and Jacob Murphy, the latter currently on 249 club appearances.

Sean Neave, who made his professional debut against Qarabağ, remains in search of a Premier League bow for his boyhood club along with teenage defender Leo Shahar.

Aaron Ramsdale and John Ruddy are the substitute goalkeepers.
